4 Modules including 4 weeks of practical training and on air radio experience.
You can take this course live on the scheduled Saturday mornings, or complete the core learning at your own pace from home. All practice can be done using a phone, laptop or tablet microphone, and when you’re ready for on-air experience, a simple USB microphone (from around €50) is all you need. You’ll be able to train, record and voice-track entirely from home.
Ever dreamed of getting behind the mic and discovering how real radio works? Whether you’re starting a new hobby or exploring a career, this comprehensive online course gives you practical, hands-on experience in Radio Presentation & Production — with real on-air broadcasting included. You can now do it affordably as we are running the course online.
Course Dates: February – Saturdays 7th & 21st / March – Saturdays 7th & 21st, 10am–1pm via Zoom.
Alongside our core trainers, we have 2 guest hosts including the Programme Director and Presenter of a local radio station, and a Broadcaster and Executive Producer at Virgin.
Across four structured modules, you’ll learn everything from scripting and presenting to remote voice tracking and running a complete show. Training is delivered live by experienced lecturers and broadcasters, and you don’t need any previous experience. No equipment is required for the first three modules — your phone or laptop mic is perfect for getting started.
As you progress, you’ll also gain access to our training radio station, where you’ll prepare and present weekly shows from home, building real broadcast confidence, learning industry techniques, and creating material for your demo. You’ll even have direct access to apply for Christmas FM.
By the end of the course, you’ll have presented multiple shows, developed your editing and presentation skills, built a practical audio library, and learned exactly how radio shows come together behind the scenes. Whether you’re exploring radio for fun or planning a future in the industry, you’ll finish with real experience and a clear next step.
