Pre-Requisite: We’re offering an In Studio Module for students who have finished the live Zoom modules of our online radio course OR our Introductory studio courses.

This Module will focus on the following:

  • Studio equipment overview
  • Using Myriad playout in a live studio
  • Scripting and preparation for live shows
  • Presentation of a live show

You will get a chance to spend a day in our studio in Liffey Valley in Dublin. The course is a small group Module with a maximum of 6 students 

Part 1 

The first part of the Module will be spent getting you comfortable with the studio environment, equipment and protocols (you will be working in the Christmas FM studio and office). We will show you the mixing desk and how it works with our playout system (Myriad) in a live environment. You will practice in small groups how to:

  • Operate the desk
  • Present in a live studio whilst operating the desk
  • Be the guest presenter (news/traffic/travel/entertainment/breakfast/drive)

Part 2

The second part will focus on practical experience. Each student will have a live show where they present on Rewind from the studio. Each student will also take a guest presenter role on the other students’ shows. Guest presenter roles include: News Headlines, Dedications, Sports Headlines, Entertainment and Producer. All students will get to be in each of these roles during the live shows.

There will be assessment and feedback given during the live shows. All shows will be recorded for download.
